“cool thing that happened this week”…of the week
How did I not get around to mentioning this sooner? On Monday, Rich Tong (most recently Tumblr’s fashion editor) released an updated list of his “Fashion Tumblr Blogs to Follow”, and Style Girlfriend made a first-time appearance in the Menswear category. See? That’s me in the yellow.
Pretty cool, right? I’ve met some amazing Tumblr folks in the past year, and it feels so great to be embraced in the community. And I say that with the self-aware understanding that such a shmoozy sentiment is usually best expressed while clutching an Oscar and going on to thank the academy.
But I mean, for reallzzzz, it is pretty great. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that I live in nyc and find myself running into the same folks that clutter my dashboard at parties and on the subway, so I’ll wrap up my little acceptance speech by acknowledging hard work and dumb luck in equal measure for landing me here. It’s always worked out as a pretty solid pairing for me in the past, so might as well keep the streak going.
